"of de Blacam and Meagher" Culture Night Belfast -

“of de Blacam and Meagher” exhibition will be open to the public at the Ormeau Baths Gallery Belfast from 8th September 2011 to 8th October 2011.

The exhibition concept takes the form of a book unbound, containing volumes of drawing and photographic reproductions from the archives, contemporary photography and readings of the work with commentaries. The commentaries come from a cross-generational collective, who share an encounter with the architecture of de Blacam and Meagher. Their commentaries offer a contemporary and critical view of the practice and its positioning in the wider context of Irish architecture.  Two short films by Ruán Magan, one about the installation in Venice, and the other with interviews from the commissioner and curators, will also be displayed during the exhibition.

"of de Blacam and Meagher" in Cork -

The Lewis Glucksman Gallery in collaboration with the Irish Architecture Foundation, presents “of de Blacam and Meagher”, an exhibition of Ireland’s participation in the 12th International Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia, from 15 April to 22 May 2011

The exhibition is a published reproduction of the archive of de Blacam and Meagher Architects, presented on specially designed oak pallets. In this exhibition, the audience is a participant, they are invited to remove a volume from each stack, roll it or fold it and take it away. Over time the stacks will be depleted, until finally we are left only with the furniture. Eventually, the archive will, in essence, be consumed. Originally presented in the Oratory of St.Gallo, Venice in 2010, the exhibition has been reconfigured to respond to the architecture of the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, before continuing its tour to Limerick City Gallery and Ormeau Baths Gallery, Belfast
